The cost of a :30-second spot is $8 million in this year’s Super Bowl. If you assume viewership at 120 million (last year’s Super Bowl set a record), the media buy equates to a $67 CPM. OK, that’s more than a Facebook campaign, but it’s about the same as a premium CTV campaign. Other fun facts:


Kendrick Lamar will headline the halftime show. This could be controversial because of Lamar’s beef with Drake. You thought the Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni fight was volatile. Lamar and Drake’s beef has gone nuclear with lawsuits and Lamar’s “Not Like Us” lyrics accusing Drake of pedophilia. Will Lamar sing the “Not Like Us” mega-viral hit? Vegas odds have it at nearly 96%.


Last year nearly 38% viewers watched the Super Bowl via a streaming platform. With platforms like Netflix and Amazon doubling down on live sports, will that number increase? Surprisingly Statista reports that a slightly smaller percentage – 35% – plan to watch via streaming in 2025. Perhaps its PTSD from the Tyson-Paul fight spinning wheel of server death.


If you’re on the “NFL has the game fixed in favor of the Chiefs” bandwagon, here’s an interesting stat: The Chiefs will wear their white “away” jerseys for the game, while the Eagles will wear green. Teams wearing white jerseys have won 16 of the last 20 Super Bowls. Side note – this is Tide commercial waiting to happen.
